Hard Rock Atlanta Fam!

I was fortunate enough to spend four full days with the Hard Rock Cafe, on the 2nd Annual Founder's Day (celebrating the 37th birthday of Hard Rock Cafes, seeing the exciting city of Atlanta in June! It was an amazing Fam Trip. Fam is short of Familiarization and offer to travel agents for free or a very discounted price to show off a particular product. In this case, it was the city of Atlanta! Wow, does Hard Rock Cafe know how to put on a Fam! This also helps us with our planning of our 2009 ATLANTA SUPER TOUR scheduled for JULY 2009! It was awesome from the moment we arrived. After check in at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Downtown Atlanta, we were off and running. Tonight we had dinner and toured the Fernbank Museum of Natural History and their wonderful IMAX theater! An awesome experience that lasted until late that night.

The next day, we hit the ground running with a great Hard Rock Breakfast (available to groups) and toured the  ThAtlanta Symphony, the HIGH Museum of Art,The Alliance Theatre before visiting the Atlanta History Center. This was truly a busy day and all these wonderful attractions gave us a fantastic presentation that will be used for our future group trips! After a short break this afternoon, we were fortunate enough to visit the local SafeHouse of Atlanta, where Hard Rock supports locals who are less fortunate than ourselves. It was an enlightening experience that I will not soon forget. Later tonight, we attended Hard Rock Cafe's 37th Birthday in our 70's attire along with a 70's cover band! Wow, what memories. Did we actually ever dress that way? Of course, we all slept like rocks tonight.

The following day was just as full where we started out at the Georgia Aquarium (the largest in the country) and the NEW World of Coca-Cola Museum. These two venues sit next door to each other in the Centennial Olympic Park and are both great to see and a lot of fun with 3-D shows & lots of hands on displays/exhibits. Next we went to CNN for the Studio Tour, where we visited the behind the scene actions of the Cable News Network! After a short rest, we went to the Stone Mountain Laser Light Show, which could have been the highlight of the Fam. Hard to say, since everything was fantastic! Late return to our hotel, where we all slept like babies!

Finally, we are on our last day...After breakfast, we toured the Martin Luther King Jr Center where we toured this wonderful civil rights display of pictures, movies, memorials and final resting place of this great civil rights leader. We will have this stop on our 2009 ATLANTA SUPER TOUR! Next we were off to UnderGround Atlanta, where we experienced the Segway City Tour. If you are not familiar with a Segway, it's those stand up riding contraptions that get you around anywhere! It was awesome and very easy to work. This was the end of our Fam Tour. In closing, I would like to thank the Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta for their sponsorship of this wonderful tour. I learned so much for our future trips to Atlanta, and again, will use many (if not all) of these venues for our 2009 ATLANTA SUPER TOUR. Keep an eye on our web site for more details or let us know of your interest and we'll send you advance information as it becomes available.

Memorial Day Atlanta Braves Tour
After our comfortable ride with refreshments & movies, we arrived at our first game of our exciting weekend of baseball.  Later that evening, we had a great inexpensive dinner at "Twist" Restaurants & Tapas Bar!  Great meal with great new and old friends.  A good night of rest at our hotel, where the beds are just the best, and we're off for the second game of this exciting series, after a run through of the sights of Atlanta!  Tonight, we did it a little nice, but still very inexpensive!  A great "classic" sports restaurant & bar, called Dantanna's!  Wow, what great food!  Another great night in the most comfortable beds around and we went to the final game of our weekend!  The Atlanta Braves split the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks (counting the Friday night we missed) but it was a great trip and we topped it off this day with Memorial Day in Turner Field!  What could be better?  We had military everywhere visiting and talking to fans, a presentation of our colors and the national anthem with a fly over just topped off the day.  And, after a relaxing ride home in our spacious motor coach, we arrived safe & sound!  And, the rates were great...The new (and old) friends were even better!  Come join us on our next Atlanta Braves adventure, July 4-6, 2008 when they take on the Houston Astros!  Mention this blog and get a 10% discount while space last!
